Hybrid EQ
This EQ is going to be a kind of melting pot of all types of circuits. The filter section is very similar to the passive filter section of the Pultec EQP-1A. The makeup gain staging for the filter section will be where things get interesting. I’m planning on at least two completely different gain stages. The first is a transformer based API DOA style gain stage. The second is a very clean tube based gain stage. I’m also going to try and make the transformers bypassable for a different tone color on the output. Some pics of the pcbs to date:
